CONSERVATION DIAGNOSIS AND INTERVENTION CRITERIA FOR THE CENTRAL HIDROELECTRICA DE CHIVILINGO, LOTA

(2014 - 2015)

 

Critical survey, diagnosis, determination of intervention criteria and definition of preliminary project alternatives for the recovery of the Chivilingo Hydroelectric Plant, located 12 km from Lota. Designed by Thomas Alva Edison and built in 1897, it was the first hydroelectric plant in Chile and the second in South America, which remained in operation until 1974. Declared a Historic Monument in 1990.
